Dental Cleanings

Our philosophy is that preventative dentistry is the best dentistry we can offer and professional dental cleanings are a key component of your child’s preventative care plan. Using special instruments and our teeth polishing super skills, we’re able to reach every nook and cranny and get rid of yucky tartar (hardened plaque) that can’t be defeated with a regular toothbrush and floss. The result? Healthy teeth and gums and pearly whites that are, well, pearly and white.

Benefits of Dental Cleanings

We can remove the plaque and tartar buildup that can’t be eliminated at home, reducing the risk of cavities and gum disease.
We’re able to closely evaluate your child’s teeth and gums and get an idea of how well they’re doing with their own brushing and flossing routine.
It’s a great opportunity for kids to learn the proper way to brush and floss or for parents to learn how to care for their infant or toddler’s teeth.

See Ya, Sugar Bugs

At the age of one, if kids have at least nine teeth, we recommend starting regular dental cleanings. We employ different behavioral techniques to ensure kids are comfortable and at ease. Then, we show them all of the tools we’ll be using for cleaning and how they work before actually diving in.

At your child’s appointment, after the dentist completes the exam, one of our friendly hygienists will floss and use their handy dandy tool to scrape off tartar and plaque. They’ll finish up by cleaning and polishing the teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste. We top off these visits with a fluoride treatment.
